DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wednesday said another Nuclear Power Plant would be constructed at the southern region of the country. 

Hasina made the observation while visiting the Science and Technology Ministry in the morning.

She said, “There are many islands in the southern part of the country and we will built another Nuclear Power Plant there.”

The premier also asked the concerned persons to take preparations in this connection.

Earlier on October 2, 2013, the construction work of much-talked-about Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Pabna has been started.

On that day, Sheikh Hasina laid the foundation stone of the 2,000 megawatt (MW) NPP which is first of its kind in the country.
