DHAKA: The first Hajj flight is scheduled on August 27 this year, said Civil Aviation and Tourism minister Rashed Khan Menon on Wednesday noon.
The flights, which will begin on August 27 and it will continue till September 28, the minister said adding more the return flights will begin on October 8 and will continue till November 9.
The minister informed media after a joint meeting with religion ministry in the day.
Country’s flag career Biman Bangladesh Airlines will not hire any craft for this year’s Hajj flights. The pilgrims will go to perform Hajj with the newly added four aircrafts to the national fleets, the minister said.
He further said Biman Bangladesh Airline will carry 50 percent of the pilgrims while Saudi Airlines will carry the rest.
