20 killed in 12 districts on Wednesday

DHAKA: At least 20 people including five women were found dead across the country as reports published in banglanews throughout Wednesday.

 

Of the deceased, six were recovered from Shitalakshya River in Narayanganj, while a private university female student allegedly committed suicide in the city. Besides, a mother became the victim of her daughter’s affair.

 

The media house remained afloat with the news on Narayanganj since police personnel of the district Port Thana recovered six floating bodies including that of Ward Councilor Nazrul Islam after they had been abducted on Sunday.

 

At Dhaka city, a housewife, identified as Kohinur Begum, 45, died in Vatara area of the city after she was severely injured on Monday by a youth who allegedly maintained an affair with her daughter.

 

A private university female student allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from ceiling fan at her residence in Uttra area of the city.

 

A worker died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital as he was critically injured after falling to ground from the roof a five-storied under-construction building in Boraitala Balur Maath area in Shapur of the city.

 

At Netrokona, police recovered the body of a woman who was allegedly strangled to death by her husband in Mohongonj upazila. The man went hiding since the killing.

 

At Habiganj, locals found the body of a 18-year-old woman at a paddy filed in Kesobpur village of Sadar upazila of the district. The body bore hit marks.

 

At Cox’s Bazar, two workers died in stray incidents at separate places of the district.

 

Of them, one died after falling to ground from a five-storied under-constriction building in Tarabunia of the district town while another was electrocuted in Kauyarakop area of Ramu upazila.

 

At Feni, a 22-year-old woman was strangled to death by her husband in Mirzanagar village of Pshuram upazila.

 

AT Manikgaj, a bus driver was died after he sustained injures in a road accident in Pachuria area of Ghior upazila.

 

At Rajshahi, a life term imprisonment awardee died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital due to old age complications.

 

At Gaibandha, a minor girl was run over by a truck on Rangpur-Dhaka highway in Dhaperhat bus stand area of Sadullapur upazila.

 

At Natore, a truck knocked down a motorcycle rider in Basudevpur intersection of Nadanga upazila.

 

At Jamalpur, local found the dead body of gambler on a paddy field in Kutirghat area of Seemarpar village under Bakshiganj upazila. Later police recovered the body.

 

At Laxmipur, a farmer died after thunder struck him in Charjagalia of Kamalnagar upazila.
