FROM SANARPAR, NARAYANGANJ: Agitated people tried to block the Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Sanarpar area of the city as the time ultimatum to law enforcers to rescue trader Saiful Islam was over.

Earlier, the administration assured people that they would rescue abductee Saiful within 6:00pm Friday.

People are trying to take control of Dhaka-Chittagong highway near Rawshaan Ara College, reported banglanews correspondent.

A large number of law enforcers have been deployed at every important intersections from Sanarpar, Siddhirganj Signboard intersection to Kanchpur.

Besides, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members and Armed Police Battalion (APBn) also were seen patrolling in the area.
