CMP restricts plain dress drive

CHITTAGONG: Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) took five decisions on Friday following the recent missing and kidnapping incidents around the country.

The decisions came from a meeting at CMP headquarters conference center in port city in afternoon.

With Police Commissioner Shafiqul Islam in the chair, Additional Police Commissioner (Administration, Finance and Traffic) AKM Shahidur Rahman, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Banaj Kumar Mazumder among others were present in the meeting.

According to the decision, all kinds of non-transparent glasses of light vehicles including microbus and private cars have to be removed otherwise drivers or owners of the vehicles would be punished.

All types of police drive in plain dress are reserved until further order. But in special needs, police can operate drives after the permission from Deputy-Police Commissioner.

In case of any special drive, each police person must carry their identity cards. 

Besides, local people also were requested to inform the deputy police commissioner of nearest thana in case of any special drive.
