DHAKA: Police rescued an abducted businessman from Jurain area of the city early Saturday and detained five people for their involvement in the abduction.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) assistant commissioner (media) Abu Yusuf told banglanews, “Trader Abdul Hakim of the city’s Bangshal area was abducted on Thursday night then the kidnappers demanded Tk 5 lakhs as ransom to his family.”

“Later, police began investigation in this connection and rescued Hakim and nabbed five abductors from Jurain area,” he added.

Details on the matter will be disclosed at a press brief at DMP Media Center in the city’s Minto Road at 12:00pm.
