Govt active to protect journalists

DHAKA: Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu categorically said that the government is more active to give security to the journalists.

 

He came up with the assertion while addressing a discussion at National Press Club VIP Lounge in city on Saturday evening.

 

The minister said that there are two problems in print media including sacking the workers and if the policy would be implemented then such type of situation would not happen.

 

Inu said that the government did not interfere on media in past five years. Narayanganj incident is the burning example of the freedom of media where they are publishing news freely.

 

With Jayanta Acharya in the chair, Jatiya Press Club president Kamal Uddin Sabuj, Captain (retd) Rezaul Karim, Syed Badruddin, Justice Shikdar Nurul Islam, among others, were present in the meeting.
