PATUAKHALI: A five-member investigation committee was formed over Golachipa Launch capsize incident in the district that killed 13 people on Sunday.

Following the directives of Shipping Ministry, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) Director Md Hossain will lead the investigation committee.

Earlier on Saturday, a launch sank on Kalagachhia River in Golachipa upazila of the district Saturday during a storm, leaving 13 killed and missing five others. 

The Launch MV Shakhil, carrying 30-40 passengers, was going to Patuakhali from Golachipa and capsized at 3:45pm.
