DHAKA: A suspected mugger sustained bullet injury in police firing and four others were held in Abdullahpur Sluice-gate area of Uttara West thana in the city on Monday morning.

The injured was Sabuz, 28.

Sources said that the muggers attacked a student named Raihan Mahmud and snatched his money, mobile phone set around 5:00am. On information, police rushed to the spot and then the muggers opened fire aiming police.

At one stage, police also retaliated, leaving the mugger injured by bullets. 

Meanwhile, police held three more muggers from the spot.

Later, Sub-Inspector Parimal admitted the injured mugger at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Uttara West Thana Duty Officer Sub-Inspector Shahid Suhrawardy confirmed the matter to banglanews.
