BOGRA: A woman was killed and at least 20 villages were damaged in a nor’wester at Dhunat upazila of the district on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Sweety Khatun, 25, wife of Mahbubur Rahman.

Locals said the nor’wester started at the upazila around 4:00pm and hit different villages and damaged them within 20 minutes, leaving 20 villages smashed and the woman died.

Nimgasi Union Parisad Chairman Sujauddoulla Ripon told banglanews that the victim was working at her residence yard and lightning stuck her, leaving her dead on the spot.

Dhunat Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Hafizur Rahman confirmed the matter to matter to banglanews.
