DHAKA: International Crimes Trubunal (ICT)-1 issued arrest warrant against ex-Jatiya Party MP Abdul Jabbar taking war crimes charges into cognizance formally.

ICT-1 led by Justice M Enayetur Rahim passed the order Monday fixing June 2 as next date of hearing.

Prosecution brought five charges against him for his crimes against humanity committed during the Liberation War.

Jabbar, as the chairman of Mathbaria Peace Committee, had “played a key role” in the formation of the Razakar Bhahini and had “led the force” in committing crimes in Mathbaria area during the nine-month-long Liberation War.
