BOGRA: A student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) along with his cousin drowned and three others were injured in Bangali River in the district on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Taj, 20, first-year student of BUET and his cousin Rifat, 16, a student of intermediate first-year of Green College in Dhaka.

Witnesses said Taj along with his friends went to visit their relative’s house at Sariakandi. In the noon, all of them went to Bangali River for talking bath and drowned.

Seeing, locals and relatives rescued them in critical condition and rushed to a local clinic where Taj and Rafit died. 

Sariakandi Police Station Sub-Inspector Nayan confirmed the matter to banglanews.
