BSF tortures Bangladeshi to death

BENAPOLE, JESSORE: Border Security Forces (BSF) of India tortured a Bangladesh cattle trader to death in Kachukhali frontier under Benapole Port Thana of the district on Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Sirajul Islam, 40, son of Siddik Hossain, hailed from Kayemkhola village under Jhikargachha upazila of the district.

Sources said that the victim with some others was returning home with cattle from the area around 10:30am. Then BSF caught him and took to Angrail camp where tortured him to death. 

Later, BSF threw the body into Ichamati River and informed Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to take the body.

Confirming the matter Benapole Port Thana Officer-in-Charge Apurba Hasan said that signs of injuries with Rifle were found in the body.

BGB-23 Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Mostafizur Rahman said, “We do not have any specific information that BSF have done it.”
