DHAKA: A mother and her son were killed as a truck hit them in Mohammadpur area of the capital on Monday morning.

The deceased were identified as Rebeka Begum, 25, her son Abdur Rahim, 9.

Rebeka’s husband rickshaw puller Kurshed Alam was also injured in the accident.

Kurshed said he along with his wife and son were going at Nurjahan Road of Mohammadpur by rickshaw. Suddenly, a rashly driven truck knocked them down from behind, leaving Rebeka dead on the spot.

Fatally injured Kurshed and his son were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where Rahim succumbed to his injuries at 3:00pm.

Mohammadpur Thana sub-inspector Shihab Uddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
