DHAKA: A writ petition has been filed with the High Court seeking its directives about making new crests with pure gold and handover them to the foreign friends for their contributions in country’s liberation war.

Martyr’s family member Nasima Ahmed filed the petition with the court on Monday.

Advocate Monjil Morshed moved for the petition.

The writ also sought HC’s directives about taking back money from the crest supplier company and about publishing probe report by Liberation War Affairs Ministry in this connection.

Earlier, BSTI experiment proved that the gold used in the crests that were awarded to foreign friends, including statespersons, politicians, philosophers, intellectuals, noted citizens and organizations, on the eve of 40th anniversary of independence of the country, was of poor quality.

The cabinet division, liberation war affairs ministry and foreign affairs ministry, earlier, arranged the reception and honor giving ceremony for the foreign nationals.
