DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged to ensure sustainable waste management and directed the cabinet to take necessary steps in this regard. 

She came up with the remark on Monday at regular weekly meeting of the cabinet at the secretariat. 

Earlier, the government asked all the city corporations to handle wastage centrally, but they denied the proposal in spite of selling by themselves.

To ensure maximum usages of wastages, the government is planning to establish waste-based-power production center, the cabinet was informed.

A minister, who had participated the meeting said to banglanews that Sheikh Hasina also stated there her strict decision against river pollution.
