LAXMIPUR: A terrorist was killed in a suspicious gunfight in Kathalia area of Sadar upazila early Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Khokhon, 38, son of late Ali Ahmed of Titarkandi village of the upazila and second-in-command of local terrorist gang ‘Didar Bahini’.

Jillur Rahman, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Sadar Thana, confirming the matter said that they heard a sound of gunfight when they were patrolling in the area. 

Later, they rescued Khokhon who sustained bullet injuries and rushed to the Sadar Hospital where he succumbed to his injures around 1:15 am.

The motive of the firing could not be known immediately, said the SI. But he was accused in several cases.
