DHAKA: International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 sent Mohammad Akram Hossain, accused for crimes against humanity during 1971.
A three-member bench of ICT-1 led by Judge M Inayetur Rahim passed the order when the accused was produced before it on Sunday.
Earlier on Friday, Rajshahi police detained the accused from a house of a relative in Paba Upazila and sent him to Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court.
Rajshahi Metropolitan Rajpara Thana Officer-in-Charge Khan Mohammad Erfan told banglanews, “The accused went into hiding from Bagerhat district after the arrest warrant by ICT-1.”
On June 20, joint team of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, detective branch of metropolitan police and Rajpara Thana of Bagerhat arrested fugitive War Crime accused Akram Hossain from Paba upazila of the district.
The detained Akram Hossain was accused for the charge of killing 42 people in Shakhari Bazar under Kachua Upazila in Bagerhat District during 1971.
Earlier on 2009, freedom fighter Nimai Das filed case against Akram with Bagerhat thana and later, tribunal issued arrest warrant against him
