BGP firing at Naikhongchhari border

BANDARBAN: Myanmar’s Border Guard Police (BGP) fired gunshots twice in Duwchari border area at Naikhongchhari of the district sometimes between Monday late night to Tuesday afternoon.

Dochari union parishad chairman Rashid Ahmed told banglanews, “Following the death of Border Guard Bangladesh lans nayek Mizanur Rahman by BGP firing on May 28, BGP often fired gunshots at Zero Point.”

But this time, the gunfire might have been come from security banker, added Rashid.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Naikhongchhari 32 BGB battalion commander lieutenant colonel Waliur Rahman said, “BGP usually fire bullets while on trials and patrol duty.

On Tuesday afternoon, the gunshot was heard from one and half kilometer distance area inside Bangladesh territory, Waliur added.
