GAZIPUR: Railway communication from Dhaka to the country’s northern region is disconnected as Rangpur Express is halted at Gazipur’s Kaliakoir upazila’s Matikata rail crossing area due to the technical problem of a wheel of the train.

It happened on Wednesday morning.

Confirming the matter, the train’s electrician Zaman Mollah said that Rangpur Express is halted at Gazipur’s Kaliakoir upazila’s Matikata rail crossing area due to technical problem of a wheel of the train.

It disconnected Dhaka’s rail communication with country’s northern region, he added.

He further said that a technical team has already started from Dhaka to the spot.

The communication has yet to be restored while filing this report.
