DHAKA: Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Haisna, will join the oath talking ceremony of India Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
State minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews on Wednesday evening.
Earlier, PM among other South Asian leaders was invited in the swearing-in ceremony. The decision was changed as she will be on Japan visit during that time.
Modi is to take the oath on May 26 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan as 14th Prime Minister of the country, ten days after a landslide win for the BJP which secured the first majority by a single party in 30 years.
On Tuesday his party, BJP leaders formally elected him as the troop leader and on the day same President of India Pranab Kumar Mukherjee invited Modi to take oath.
