GAIBANDHA: A minor drowned in Ghagot River in Mandua village of Ballamjhar union under Sadar upazila of the district on Friday noon.

The deceased was identified as Mominul Islam, 9, son of a Helal Mia.

Locals said that the victim fell in the river water while playing with other children on the bank of Ghagot River. 

Later, he was rescued by locals and died on the way of Sadullapur Upazila Health Complex.

Bangram Union Parisad Chairman Fazlul Qaium confirmed the matter to banglanews.
