DHAKA: Shamim Osman, lawmaker of Narayanganj-4 constituency, has claimed that a vested quarter has been blaming him for the sensational seven-murder in Narayanganj.
He also claimed that the quarter is killing his men one after another.
Shamim Osman made the assertions while addressing a press briefing at his Gulshan residence in city on Friday afternoon.
Incumbent Awami League lawmaker Shamim also explained his telephone conversation with Nur Hossain, main accused of the seven-murder.
He said, “Law enforcers knew the position of Nur Hossain but they did not detain him. It’s not my duty to detain anyone. I just tried to persuade Nur Hossain to surrender.”
The AL lawmaker also said, “I am not blaming any battalion; I am just talking against some corrupted persons.”
He also said, “I am ready to resign from the party if party asks me to do so. I will rather be busy with the schools, charitable organizations and other educational institutions that I have established.”
“I have decided no one from my family will join in politics,” he added.
