DHAKA: Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) urged Bangladesh authorities to conduct an efficient investigation into the murder of a local journalist and arrest of the killers.
Earlier on Wednesday, the dismembered body of a reporter of a local newspaper was found in railway station area in Chuadanga district.
The deceased was identified as Sadrul Alam Nipul, a reporter of local Bengali-language daily Dainik Mathabhanga.
Family sources said that the victim went out of house on Tuesday night after receiving a phone call and did not return home that night.
Nipul's brother Bakul alleged that local drug smugglers were responsible for the journalist's death and it was a premeditated murder.
