DHAKA: The well marked low over west central bay and adjoining area persists. Under its influence deep convection is taking place over North Bay.
Squally weather may affect North Bay, adjoining coastal area of Bangladesh and the maritime ports, the met office said.
Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal number three.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
They are also advised not to venture into the deep sea.
Besides, in association with rain/thunder showers, west/north-westerly squalls speed 60-80 kph is likely to occur over the regions of Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox’s bazar and Sylhet wherein river ports shall hoist riverine warning signal number two.
