THAKURGAON: Border Security Forces (BSF) shot a Bangladeshi fisherman at Nagorvita frontier under Baliadangi upazila of the district on Saturday.

The victim is Kurban Ali, 30, son of Pashirul Islam of Kashua village of the upazila.

Locals said Kurban along with another one went for fishing in the River Nagar, near to Indian border, in the noon. At that time, members of Tingaon camp of BSF-121 Battalion opened sudden fire at them, leaving Kurban injured.

He was then whisked to the Thakurgaon Modern Sadar Hospital.

Lt Colonel Kamal Ahmed, Commander of BGB Thakurgaon-30, said protesting the attack they invited BSF for a flag meeting.
