BARISAL: The authorities concerned imposed a ban on small water boats movement on the internal routes of the district due to unfavorable weather conditions.

The ban came to effect from 3:00pm on Saturday.

The depression over east-central bay and adjoining area moved southwestwards and weakened into a well marked low over east-central bay and adjoining west-central bay at 12:00 noon Friday.

Barisal port officer M Shaidullah said, “Weather has remained unfavorable since the morning, the ban has been impose in the afternoon as the weather officer issued a Signal No-2 at the water ports.”

Shaidullah, however, said no decision has been taken yet on the big vassal’s movement of on Dhaka-Barisal route.
