DHAKA: Armed Police Battalion (APBn) personnel detained eight people with 1.6-Kilogram gold from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city early Sunday.

The detainees are- Alauddin Bepari, Liton, Jasimuddin, Sajed Ali, Nahid Al Mamun, Saiful Islam, Jasim Uddin, Oli Ullah. 

Sources said that law enforcers caught the eight from in front of canopy-1 around 1:00am while the detainees were trying to bring the gold dodging duties. 

The estimated price of the gold is about Tk 80 lakhs.
