DHAKA: Though retractable spikes were installed on road in the capital to prevent cars from going in the wrong way, but a few days later these spikes were seen gone wrong.

The spikes were hoped to retract when a vehicle goes in the right direction and puncture the tires if vehicles go in the wrong way.  

In a spot visit on Monday, it was seen that some spikes were broken, some curved and some were missing.

Criticism and questions are now labeled with the step why materials of inferior quality were used in this regard as it raised major concern in preventing vehicles from going through wrong ways.

On May 23, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (South) installed the spikes.
