MONGLA (BAGERHAT): Robbers freed 40 fishermen among the kidnapped 50 after getting ransom while 10 more are still their hostages.

Though Lieutenant Commander Alauddin, operation officer of West Zone of Coast Guard said the robbers freed all fishermen.

The freed fishermen hailed from Mongla, Rampal and Dakop upazila of Khulna.

Earlier, the robbers of Chotu Bahini abducted 50 fishermen from Harbaria area of Poshur Channel on Saturday morning along with 20 fishing boats and took them into the deep forest of Sundarbans.

The robbers freed a fisherman to collect the ransom.
