FENI: Expelled joint secretary of upazila Awami League Zahid Chowdhury, also one of the masterminds of the much-talked-about murder, is the owner of the foreign-made 7.65MM pistol that was used in the murder of Fulgazi upazila chairman Ekramul Haque.

Commander of RAB-7 Major Ahmed Hossain Mohiuddin made the disclosure in a press conference at their camp in the town on Tuesday noon.

He also said RAB arrested one of the accused Sajib, son of one Abul Hashem, from Birinchi area of the town and recovered five rounds of bullet and two magazines of foreign pistols from his room.

The pistol was recovered from Sajib after the information of Zahid Chowdhury and Mir Hossain who were arrested in Dhaka, he added.

Zahid himself supplied the pistol to Sajib, the RAB official added.

Feni Police Superintendent Jasim Uddin, among others, was present in the press meet.

In a cinematic style, miscreants shot Ekramul, the upazila Awami League president, and burnt to death at his own car in front of Bilashi Cinema in Academy area of the district town on May 20.
