COMILLA: A leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was gunned down in a factional clash between two groups of the organization at Government Victoria College on Thursday noon.

The deceased was identified as Ahsan Hahib Sumu, 27, nephew of lawmaker AKM Bahauddin Bahar of Comilla Sadar constituency.   

Two other BCL men sustained bullet injuries in the infighting that took place at 1:30am.

Sources said two BCL groups led-by Rintu and Rasel locked into clash over establishing supremacy in the college. 

Both the groups exchanged a good number of bullets during the clash, leaving Sumu dead on the spot. 

The injured were admitted to Comilla Medical College Hospital.

Kotwali Thana inspector Shamsuzzaman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
