Cheated pilgrims seek PM intervention

DHAKA: Intending hajj pilgrims, who were cheated by an unscrupulous travel agency last year, sought the interference of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina so that they can perform hajj this year.

“No more assurance in this regard rather they want the implementation,” said the agitated pilgrims in a press briefing at the hall room of national press club on Thursday morning.

They also threatened the government saying “take initiatives by next week otherwise we will go for a hunger strike until death”.

The cheated hajj intenders also urged to cancel the licenses of the fraud hajj agencies.

The hajj pilgrims also read out their allegations against the frauds and sought the assistance of the government in this issue.

They also formed a human chain protesting the wrong doing.

However, earlier in last year some 142 hajj pilgrims were being cheated by hajj agencies and could not perform hajj.
