SATKHIRA: Two workers were electrocuted in Alipur Bazar of Sadar upazila of the district on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Billal Hossain, 22, son of Abdul Ahad of Chhoto Patra village of Keshabpur upazila of Jessore district and Shafikul Islam, 24, son of Nabab Ali of Kumira village of Tala upazila of Satkhira.

Co-workers said, “Some 21 workers were working to set up an electric pillar in Alipur Bazar. Billal and Shafiqul came to contact with a live electric wire at 11:30am there and sustained severe incursion.”

Co-workers rushed them to the district Sadar Hospital where on-duty doctors declared them dead.

Sadar Thana Officer-In-Charge Inamul Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
