DHAKA: The government has approved third agreement under phase-1 for establishing nuclear power plant at Ruppur in Ishwardi, Pabna district.
Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Division Nurul Karim confirmed the matter to banglanews.
He said the phase will cost USD 190 million while the total cost will be around USD 550 million in four phases.
Atomstroy, under the government of the Russian Federation, is supervising the project.
Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Division Nurul Karim informed banglanews that on the day same, the cabinet also approved some other projects.
He said the approved projects include Khulna WASA water supply unit involving Tk 250.69 crore. China GO Engineering Corporation will construct the project.
The projects also include Tongi-Bhairab Bazar double-track rail-line involving Tk 12.18 crore and Northern Bangladesh Integrated Development Project involving Tk 107.21 crore.
Earlier, cabinet’s another meeting on public purchase was also held there. It was chaired by the Finance Minister AMA Muhith.
