DHAKA: A youth allegedly committed suicide by jumping from a city hotel’s roof in Nazimuddin Road in Bangshal Thana on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Sobhan, 27, son of Shahjahan Mia, hailed from Faridganj of Chandpur district.

His brother Manik told banglanews that Sobhan was mentally sick.

Manik said Sobhan jumped from the One Star Hotel’s roof of that area in the noon. Later, he was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

He died at the hospital in the afternoon.

Bangshal Thana Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Masud confirmed the matter to banglanews.
