FARIDPUR: Locals blocked the Dhaka-Khulna highway in Chandibordi bus stand area of Saltha upazila of the district on Thursday demanding trial to the killing of a madrasah teacher.

Villagers, poured onto the road at 10:00am of the day, blocked the highway that triggered a halt to the vehicular movement on the highway.

Over one and half-a-hundred of vehicles remained standard on the both side of the highway, causing immense sufferings to the passengers.

On Saturday night, miscreants shot dead two people, including Moulana Abul Bashar, an associate professor of a local Alia Madrasah, hailed from Saltha upazila of Faridpur, in Milkvita area of Tekerhat of Madaripur.
