Dhaka: Former advisor of care taker government and former editor of 'The Independent', Mahbubul Alam passed away at a city hospital on Friday morning at the age of 78.
He breathed his last around 09:20am at BIRDEM Hospital.
The veteran journalist was kept on life support since Thursday morning due to multiple organs failure, while he was admitted to the BIRDEM Hospital on Tuesday, his family sources said to banglanews.
Former advisor Mahububl Alam was born in Munshiganj on February 5 in 1936. He started his career as a journalist in 1953. He was also the Managing Director & chief editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).
