HABIGANJ: The railway communication of Sylhet with other parts of the country has been restored early Friday, after eight hours of suspension following the derailment of a train in Noapara station under Madhabpur upazila of the district.
Railway officials said to banglanews that a salvage train rescued the derailed compartment of the Paharika around 5:15am.
Then, trains started to pass that area, they added.
The rail communications of Sylhet halted with Dhaka and Chittagong after a train derailed near to Noapara station at 9:15pm Thursday.
Shayestaganj Station Master Kazi Shahidul Islam said that four wheels of the train veered off track at that time.
After eight hours, a salvage train rescued the derailed compartment, he added.
