PM on 6-day visit in China Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina

DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has reached in China on a 6-day official tour Friday to attend the inaugural ceremony of the 2nd China- South Asia Expo in Kunming.

A VVIP flight of Bangladesh Biman carrying the premier and her entourage departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport of the city at 7.30am and landed at Kunming Changshui International Airport of China at 9.25am (11.25am local time).

Bangladesh ambassador to China Azizul Haque and vice-governor of Yunnan Province Mme. Li Jiheng received Hasina at the airport.

Hasina will hold talks with her Chinese counterpart at Great Hall of People on June 9 and will sign a joint communique there.

Sources said, main objective of the visit is to discuses with the Chinese leadership on different issues to protect Bangladesh's interests at bilateral, regional and internationals forums, and strengthen the bilateral ties between the two countries. 

A 70-member business delegation is giving accompany the premier during the visit.

The premier is scheduled to return home on June 11.
