MANIKGANJ: A couple was killed in a road accident in Sadar upazila of the district on Friday noon.

The deceased were identified as Dr. Dulali Rani Sarker, Upazila Livestock Officer, and her husband Doyal Chandra Sarker, resided in Sakucia village under Harirampur upazila of the district.

Witnesses said that a rashly-driven Manikganj-bound bus of Village Line Paribahan, coming from Dhaka, knocked down the motorbike carrying them in BSCIC industrial area around 12:30pm.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Golra highway Thana Police Sergeant Mehedi Hasan said that the bodies of the deceased have been sent to the Manikganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police seized the bus, whether the driver fled, he added.
