DHAKA: Former Election Commissioner Brigadier General (retd) M Sakhawat Hossain urged Election Commission (EC) to regain reputation during upcoming by-poll of Narayanganj.
He came up with the assertion while addressing a seminar organized by Youth Movement for Democracy at Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) auditorium in city on Friday.
The former Election Commissioner said, “Election Commission has earned so many bad reputations. Take proper steps on the by-poll of Narayanganj on June 26. And try to remove the bad reputation through necessary steps.”
He also said that media can play an important role in the by poll of Narayanganj.
Eminent Jurist Dr. Kamal Hossain, Dr Tuhin Malik, Journalist Mahfuj Ullah, Mahmudur Rahman Manna and others attended in the seminar.
