No scope to whiten black money

FROM OSMANI AUDITORIUM: There would be no opportunity for turning into black money into white, said Finance Minister AMA Muhith terming the prior facility cancelled.

“The income in the last year (2013-14) from this sector was only Tk 34 crore. The amount suggests that there is no black money in the country. Mistakenly I had omitted the issue in the budget speech,” he added.

Muhith made the disclosure at a press conference at Osmani Auditorium in city on Friday.

In response to a query about the comments by CPD researchers on the budget of 2014-15 FY minister said, “No comments. Comments by them are not comments at all.”

Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury, Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu, Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, State Minister for Finance Affairs MA Manna, Governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr Atiur Rahman and NBR Chairman Golam Rahman among others were present in the press meet.
