GOPALGANJ: Three people were killed and 20 others injured as a passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Pona area under Kashiani Upazila of the district early Saturday.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Confirming the matter, Kashiani Thana Officer-in-Charge Monirul Islam told banglanews, “A Khulna-bound passenger bus fell into a roadside ditch as its driver lost control over the steering in the area around 3:30am, leaving three people dead and injured others.”

The injured were sent to Kashiani Upazila Health Complex and Gopalganj Sadar Hospital, he added.
