MUNSHIGANJ: A 12-year-old football fan was electrocuted in Gopalpur village of Sirajdikhan upazila on Saturday night while hoisting the Argentine flag ahead of upcoming World Cup.

The victim was Shihab Hossain, son of expatriate Muktar Hossain and class VI student of Shekernagar Roy Bahadur Institute.

Locals said Shihab came in contact with an uncovered electric wire while hanging Argentina flag in the area around 9:00pm, leaving him dead on the spot.

Officer-in-charge Md Abul Basar of Sirajdikhan Thana confirmed the news to banglanews.
