Soilen on 9-day remand

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Tuesday placed Shoumendra Lal Chandra Soilen, assistant private secretary (APS) of former state minister for religion affairs Shahjahan Mia, on a 9-day remand in a corruption case. 

Earlier, Soilen was arrested on charge of amassing wealth illegally on Monday.

Judge of CMM court Mostafizur Rahman passed the order after Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Deputy Director and also the investigation officer of the case AKM Mesbah Uddin placed Soilen before the court. 

Sumendra Lal Chandra Soilen was arrested after ACC filed a case against him on charges of acquiring a huge amount of money through illegal means a week ago.
