CHITTAGONG: A college student was electrocuted in Khawja Road area under Chandgaon Thana of the port city Saturday, police said.

The deceased was identified as Jafar Ahmed, 21, a first-year student of Bangla Department of Chittagong Govt. College and son of Nur Safa from Maichhpara village of Banshkhali.

M Matiur, Officer-in-Charge of Chandgao Thana, said the student suffered electric shock while placing his wet lungi on an electric wire for drying.

He was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where the duty doctor declared him dead.
