NETROKONA: A district court on Sunday awarded life-term imprisonment to three people, including father, mother and son, for their involvement in killing of a youth. 

District Additional Session Judge Abdul Hamid passed the order around 11:30am. 

The court also fined Tk 30,000 each, in default, the convicted have to serve three more years jail.

The convicts are Abul Hashem, 55, his wife Awara Begum, 45 and his son Shafiqul Islam, 19.

According to the case statement, on July 25, 2010, following a dispute Abul Hashem along with family members attacked his brother’s son Sona Mia, 19, with lethal weapon, leaving him injured critically. 

Later, he was rushed to Kendua Upazila Health Complex where doctor declared him dead.

Later, Abdul Hye, father of the victim, filed a murder case with Kendua Thana mentioning five names. 

On July 28 in 2011, after investigation, police submitted charge-sheet.
