DHAKA: Communications Minister Obaidul Quader on Sunday said the construction works of Padma Multipurpose Bridge project would begin within this month.

The communications minister made the disclosure while addressing a discussion over an autobiography ‘Oshomapto Attojiboni’ by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at TSC of Dhaka University on Sunday.

He said an agreement would be signed with China Major Bridge Company on June 17 for construction. After signing the deal, the construction works would begin, he added.

The company has brought all instruments, including manpower for the project, he added.

DU Chhatra League President Mehedi Hasan Mollah presided over the programme.
