DHAKA: Customs authorities seized 7.5kg gold from four passengers at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Wednesday.
The detainees are- Jabed, 40, Kanchan, 39, Ahmed, 40, and Sagor, 41.
Confirming the matter to banglanews, Customs Assistant Commissioner at the airport Umme Nahida Akhter said that on suspicion, customs intelligence searched those persons noticing bandage at their legs and seized 60 bars of gold from them.
They got down from a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines that came from Dubai at the airport via Sylhet around 9:00am, she added.
Sources said that the seized gold, worth around Tk 4 crore.
